We acted for a public US technology company and a global leader in mobile workspaces, providing virtualization, mobility management, networking and cloud services on its acquisition of an innovative storage virtualization software company. We advised on all Bulgarian law aspects of the transaction, including on the aspects relating to the transfer of IPRs and the various legal implications concerning the intellectual property rights, copyrights and patents under the applicable laws. We have designed, together with our client’s inhouse team of US qualified lawyers, an innovative contractual and deal structure to ensure valid and enforceable transfer of relevant underlying IPRs, patents and copyrights to proprietary software products.

We have advised a leading producer of non-alcoholic beverages in relation to the pending and threatening challenges against some of the trade marks in its portfolio and reported on the feasibility of the current trade mark defense strategy.

We acted as the vendor’s Bulgarian counsel in the wider context of the pending acquisition of a frozen bakery products company. We advised on the assignment and transfer of the relevant IPRs in Bulgaria, trade marks and completed the related registration of the trade mark transfers with the Bulgarian Patent Office.
